Korean Football Shinmun Episode 6

A lot of football has been played since Episode five, the Korean National Team had a friendly with Georgia in Turkey before taking on Turkmenistan in a World Cup qualifier, not to mention the K League action just last weekend. And so, with Chuseok falling in between, Episode Six has been uploaded slightly later than originally planned.

As always, there were one or two other articles that caught my eye but didn't make it into the episode.

Samuel Rosa of Jeonbuk

Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors forward who, via Kim Daeryeong's Asian Football, Samuel Rosa declared that the Green Warriors are one of the biggest club in Asia and that he wants to stay in Jeonju for a long time.

Rosa said: "I'm happy at Jeonbuk. Jeonbuk are one of the biggest clubs in Asia in terms of infrastructure and support from the fans."

Rosa's loan deal from Al Nasr expires at the end of the season but the 28 year-old has made it clear that he would like to extend his stay, adding: "I want to keep playing at this club, that's my target. We are fighting for the league title and at the moment things are going smoothly. The team are all doing their best to win the title."

Interest in Daegu's Stars

In Sportal Korea, an interview with CEO Cho Kwangrae revealed that there was interest from the Chinese Super League for Brazilian attacking midfielder Cesinha, as too were Al-Ahli from Saudi Arabia.

CEO Cho said: "It wasn't just Al-Ahli who wanted Cesinha, there were a whole host of clubs who were interested, but not from Europe. One club who wanted him made a large offer."

The interest from the Chinese Super League was Choi Kanghee's Shanghai Shenhua who, according to Cho, wanted to sign Cesinha: "Even with the signing of Kim Shinwook, they wanted to take Cesinha too. At first Cesinha was a bit unsettled [by the interest]."

In terms of interest in Korean international goalkeeper Jo Hyeonwoo, CEO Cho said that he isn't sure what is happening. "I'm monitoring it. When he returns from Turkmenistan the player will speak with his family. For now, I'm only thinking about how we can ensure that he plays for Daegu for a long time."

Jo Hyeonwoo was subject to interest from the German Bundesliga with several clubs reported to be interested in signing the 27 year-old.
